Josef-Schwarz-School

The state-recognized Josef-Schwarz-School was founded in 2012 at the Erlenbach site. After starting with a reception and primary school, the successful development of a lower secondary level followed successively up to the end of Year 10. Our new school in Heilbronn is the second location of the Josef-Schwarz-School and adds a college to the existing offer. The new building, one of the most modern school campuses in Germany, is located directly in the Neckarbogen district in the heart of Heilbronn. In addition to the college, the reception and the first and fifth grades have moved in for the 2024/25 school year and the school is now continuing to grow in all school types. As a result, we can offer many new positions here.

The core element of JSS is a bilingual (German/English) curriculum, starting in reception. Native-speaking colleagues from all over the world guarantee highly qualified language teaching and thus broaden the cultural horizons of the school community. The STEM profile of the JSS is another core element for which we have been recognized as a STEM-friendly school by the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs. We were also recognized as a "digital school" in 2019 and 2023 and therefore have first-class digital equipment.

Science and technology labs, specialist and workrooms, open spaces and rooms for creative work are also available, as are specific rooms for the all-day programme and various event spaces.

Your Advantages

The applicable school holidays are available for your recreation. You only enrich the holiday programme on 10 days during the holidays. You have at least 30 vacation days in total.

Equipment

In addition to the excellently equipped group rooms, the sports halls, an exercise room, the specialist rooms and various outdoor play areas can also be used. Our library is also at your disposal and the assembly hall can be used for performances.

Organization

Our reception is closely interlinked with the primary school. This makes the transition to Year 1 easier for the children. We follow the orientation plan for childcare facilities in Baden-Württemberg. As an educator, you will support the children in learning the basics of school. You can use both smartboards and tablets in all rooms for this purpose - whereby acting and experiencing with all senses in all conceivable working and social forms is always our top priority.

Thanks to small class sizes of generally 22 students and our team-teaching model, you can respond individually to the strengths and challenges of all children. School coaches are also part of our pedagogical team, who provide students with advice and active support in the event of learning challenges and conflicts, thus taking the pressure off you as a teacher.

Organization

In our elementary school, children learn up to Year 4. They are accompanied by German and international teachers and educators. You will work in strong class teams in which lesson preparation and educational objectives are discussed together. Our school coaches support the work of the teams, which consist of native English-speaking colleagues from all over the world, German teachers and additional educational staff.

Our educators, who act as assistant teachers in the classes and are responsible in particular for the pedagogical support of the children, also organize the afternoon and holiday programme at JSS.

Equipment

In order to be able to work in line with our STEM focus, four laboratories are available, some of which are fully equipped to university standard. Laptops are provided for all teachers and students. With smartboards and document cameras in all rooms as well as comprehensive Wi-Fi and MS Teams as a standardized learning platform, you can design your lessons digitally and in line with the times.

Organization

In our college, 100 students are taught from Year 11 to Year 13 and can take both the Baden-Württemberg and the international Abitur. We are committed to the motto "We don't learn for school, but for the future". We therefore place a strong focus on the subject areas of computer science, economics and natural sciences.

In order to provide our students with practical insights, we have state-of-the-art science laboratories and work with strong educational partners throughout the Rhine-Neckar region. The room structure of the college building is geared towards modern start-ups, so there are discussion, quiet work and leisure zones on all floors.
