Located right next to the English Garden, the German-English Phorms Campus Munich is home to a crèche, a kindergarten with dedicated preschool groups, a primary school, and a secondary school, accommodating a total of around 730 children and young people.
Our Phorms Campus in Munich Bogenhausen opened in 2007. Both the primary and secondary schools are now officially recognised by the state. Around 730 children and young people are supported by 110 German- and English-speaking educators from all over the world. The international team effectively combines diverse approaches to teaching and learning, ensuring engaging lessons as well as caring and nurturing support that foster a love of learning.
The kindergarten and school are well-equipped, providing an attractive working environment with access to up-to-date educational technology.
At Phorms Munich we have a strong team spirit that extends beyond work with regular social events strengthening personal connections and fostering mutual support among colleagues.
Our kindergarten welcomes children from 18 months old until they reach school age. A total of 134 children are cared for in seven age-homogeneous groups, including three dedicated preschool groups. The kindergarten benefits from a favourable staff-to-child ratio. Each group has three qualified educators in the classroom that share the responsibility for the children’s care as well as the planning and organisation of the day.
The teams in the crèche, kindergarten, and preschool departments work closely together to coordinate their educational programmes. To enrich the daily experience, you’ll have access to our children’s kitchen, a gymnastics room, a library, and a spacious outdoor area. In the preschool, iPads and smart displays are also at your disposal, and you’ll be supported by music and sports teachers from our primary school.
Team meetings take place during working hours to ensure your personal time remains your own. Your schedule is planned well in advance, providing you with long-term planning security. With 34 vacation days, you’ll have ample opportunities to rest, recharge, and bring fresh energy to your work with the children.
"Phorms has offered me incredible opportunities for professional growth over the years, while also helping me build lifelong friendships with colleagues." - Sheryl Finkbone (Head of Kindergarten)
At our primary school, lessons are delivered in equal parts in German and English. We follow the Bavarian curriculum, supplemented by elements of the Cambridge Primary Programme in English. Teachers and educational staff work hand in hand to provide outstanding education for our 272 students. As a teacher, you’ll be supported by a teaching assistant in the classroom, as well as by learning support and specialist teachers. External therapists are also available on-site if needed.
Our classrooms are thoughtfully designed with a personal touch. The integration of educational technology is advancing. All classrooms and subject-specific rooms are equipped with smart boards or displays, and you’ll have access to iPads and laptops. In 2023 we introduced a 1:1 iPad programme, enabling every primary school student to use their own iPad.
Thanks to reasonable class sizes in conjunction with our team-teaching model, modern teaching and learning methods can be successfully implemented and each student can be individually encouraged and supported.
As a teaching assistant, you’ll partner with a teacher in a teaching team and support teaching and learning in lessons. You’ll also be responsible for planning and delivering after-school and holiday programmes. With our diverse educational offerings, you’ll have the chance to bring your personal strengths and interests into the classroom, implementing projects that are enjoyable for both you and the children. You’ll benefit from 30 vacation days plus an additional 10–15 days off annually.
